This course prepares the students for the growing legal demands presented by emerging technology. It examines the digital transformation of business and society through cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain. It also explores the different aspects of the interaction between technology and policy around the topics of privacy and security (data protection, information privacy and digital security). It covers the current and potential legal and regulatory strategies that can be used to achieve aims such as data protection, ethical artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The course will consider the legal framework from a domestic and international perspective.
