Research Project Submission Procedures

Researchers must follow one of the two procedures below when submitting a project for ethical review:

  1. Projects Applying for Research Board Funding
    The researcher or sponsor, as applicable, must complete the online submission form via the Research Board page of the USJ website and attach all required documents for ethical review.

  2. 2. Projects Submitted Independently of Research Board Funding
    The project sponsor must submit the complete application via email to:

Required Documents

The submission file includes, but is not limited to, the following documents:

  • A letter of recommendation signed by the instructor-researcher or thesis/dissertation sponsor. The letter should include the student’s name, research context, study objectives, target population, and proposed methodology.

  • A detailed research protocol

  • Research instruments

  • Information and consent form, or if applicable, a paragraph outlining the ethical principles to be respected, drafted in French (or English) and Arabic

  • A hand-signed Confidentiality Agreement

  • Approval from the relevant institutions
