Since September 2024, Lebanon has been grappling with an ongoing period of conflict, severely affecting our community, including students, instructors, and staff. The Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) remains committed to addressing these challenges and prioritizing the well-being of those impacted.
In response, Opération 7e jour, USJ Campus Ministry, Al-Mazeed NGO, the Student Life Office, and other local institutions have united to offer support, from logistics to specialized care. Fondation USJ has also launched an "Urgent Solidarity Appeal" to assist displaced students, families from South Lebanon, and patients within our hospital network.
The growing uncertainty has intensified concerns for both students and staff. USJ is dedicated to providing ongoing care through the Counseling Office (SAP), ensuring continued support during this difficult time.

As we remember the victims of this war, we stand in solidarity with the countless refugees who continue their journey with dignity. Initiatives such as Opération 7e Jour, USJ Campus Ministry, Al Mazeed, and SVE are already mobilized, providing vital support.
In times of turmoil and uncertainty, the words of educator Paulo Freire resonate: “Where there is life, there is incompleteness.” As we mark 150 years of our University, we reaffirm our commitment to education and the relentless pursuit of progress. As our esteemed alumnus Albert Kostanian wisely noted, this milestone is a call to “stand firm in our mission”, even when the path ahead seems uncertain. With resolve, we advance through education, shaping history as it unfolds....
