USJMUN 2026: Excellence in Student Diplomacy at USJ
The USJMUN 2026 conference was held on July 18 and 19, 2026, at the Innovation and Sports Campus (CIS), under the supervision of the Student Life Office (SVE). Over two days filled with debates, negotiations and decision-making, participants took on the roles of State representatives, senators and diplomats as part of a United Nations simulation.
Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation that promotes constructive dialogue on geopolitical, historical and strategic issues of international significance. It provides students with a platform for exchange, reflection and engagement, allowing them to develop their skills in diplomacy, negotiation, public speaking and critical thinking.
This edition brought together more than 400 participants, including delegates, committee chairs, members of the administrative office and the USJMUN organizing team. Divided among 11 committees, including one dedicated to university students, delegates engaged in negotiations and debates on various local, regional and international issues.
Among these eleven committees, three were conducted entirely in French, in response to strong demand from participants wishing to take part in the conference in this language. The increase in the number of French-speaking committees reflects a renewed interest in French and a commitment to promoting multilingualism within USJMUN.
The conference also had the honor of welcoming His Excellency Mr. Johan Arief, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Malaysia in Lebanon, whose presence marked this edition and demonstrated the support of diplomatic representations for student initiatives that promote international dialogue and intercultural cooperation.
Held under the theme “History Has Its Eyes on You,” this edition reminded each participant that the decisions made today, the resolutions adopted and the actions undertaken contribute to shaping the history of tomorrow and carry a responsibility that extends beyond the framework of the simulation.
