This teaching unit is part of the bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy (undergraduate program). It is a 3-credit mandatory TU in semester 5 that will provide in-depth exploration of the developmental language disorders that can impact children’s development (history of terminology, etiology, prevalence, etc.). Through this course, students will gain understanding of the characteristics and signs of DLD and will learn how and when to diagnose it. They will also explore the importance of early intervention, the different approaches and techniques, and the role of the SLT with parents and within the multidisciplinary team.
