Comparison of oral health knowledge and attitudes and recorded dental health between children living in an orphanage and children living at home: an experimental study.

The study sample consists of two groups of children, one from a private school (Group 1) and another from an orphanage (Group 2) in the same area of Beirut-Lebanon. A questionnaire specifically designed for the present study will be administered to the subjects and a screening of the children will be conducted by one member of the research team. The children will be taught and shown the proper oral hygiene measures. A follow up oral health examination will be made later to assess the evolution of the children’s oral health and find out if it remained the same, worsened or improved. Also the same questionnaire will be administered on these follow ups to verify knowledge’s sustainability over time.
