Energy and Infrastructure Project Finance

The course is an overview to one of the key types of international transactions frequently encountered in the Middle East in the energy and infrastructure sector. It examines the way in which project development and finance transactions originate and are executed in the context of evolving and complex legal regimes from a legal practitioner perspective. The course considers the general market and economic drivers of this type of transactions and their contractual framework in the region, with a comparative perspective on similar transactions in the United States of America. Examples of such transactions include the development and financing of gas terminal and storage facilities, power plants, refineries, petrochemicals facilities, ports and other energy and infrastructure assets.
