Message from the Director

Support USJ students,
tomorrow's leaders...
Together, we can make a difference!

cynthiaDear friends and alumni,

Since its founding in 1875, Saint Joseph University of Beirut has upheld a tradition of academic excellence and service to society. As we prepare to celebrate the 150th anniversary in 2025, we reflect with deep gratitude on our journey, defined by steadfast commitment.

This milestone is even more meaningful as we celebrate it alongside the USJ University Medical Center, Hôtel-Dieu de France (HDF), which marked its centennial in 2023. Deeply rooted in history and tradition, both institutions stand as pillars of our community and have played a vital role in advancing education and healthcare in Lebanon and beyond.

As we continue our shared mission of delivering outstanding education and exceptional healthcare, I invite you to stand with us in supporting this vital cause. Your support for USJ and HDF helps strengthen both education and access to high-quality healthcare for our community.

Together, we can help shape a future where education and quality healthcare are within reach for all. Your generosity will support students on their path forward and ensure that patients in need receive the care they deserve, bringing hope and opportunity for the future.

Under the slogan “USJ, Aspire for More”, we have launched a ten-year campaign to raise $150 million to support USJ’s long-term development. Magis, the Latin word for “more”, lies at the heart of the Jesuit tradition and of our University’s values. “USJ, Aspire for More” is more than a slogan; it reflects a spirit that inspires us to keep striving, to give the best of ourselves, and to pursue excellence in everything we do. By taking part in this campaign, you become part of a legacy of excellence that will endure for generations to come.

Together, we will keep moving forward, inspiring everyone to “Aspire for more”.

On behalf of the entire USJ and HDF community, thank you for your dedication and steadfast support.
