iPhone 12 may seem like a really good upgrade from the iPhone 11 just by looking at its “new” old design. But looking at the list of specifications, you might change your mind. While the iPhone 11 came with a battery capacity of 3110 mAh, you might think that the next generation, the iPhone 12, might have an upgrade. But, you’ll be surprised to find that the iPhone 12 battery capacity was degraded to 2815 mAh. In real-time usage, this is converted to up to 5 hours and 10 minutes of heavy use for the iPhone 11 and 6 hours 40 minutes of heavy use for the iPhone 12. Surprised another time, aren’t you? Apple says that it is using a new technology to make the battery cheaper and more powerful, but this is when the 5G technology is not in use. There’s an OLED display for the iPhone 12 series of phones compared to the LCD display for the iPhone 11. The new, most powerful A series chipset, and the second most powerful in the world after Kirin 9000 chipset (Huawei’s newest and latest chipset), which is the A14 Bionic chipset, is also included in this new model. While the basic models start at just 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM for both models, and the camera setup for both is the same, the iPhone 11 starts at around $600 to $700 in Lebanon, while the basic iPhone 12 sits at $900-$1000.
The one problem that everyone should remember before buying an iPhone 12 phone, is that it comes with neither a charger nor earphones. Instead, it only comes with a type C cable. Why? Apple claims that this decision was made to protect the environment and that customers can use the old chargers to charge the iPhone 12. Well, this is just a lie, as the new cable charger doesn’t fit in the old iPhone charger and you then need to buy a new one for another 20 to 30 USD.
In conclusion, if you can buy an iPhone 12, go ahead! However, if you want to pay less for and still get your money’s worth for similar quality and advantages, why don’t you check out android phones?
