Permaculture: Training of schools of the Mabarrat Association

For the second year in a row, the CEEDD Chair collaborates closely with the Mabarrat Association as part of a training project for school communities belonging to its network, to permaculture. Following the success of the 2017-2018 collaboration project, implemented with 3 schools of the Association, this year it has engaged 5 schools in a training program to permaculture, in collaboration with our Chair: Alhadi (Beirut), Al Mujtaba (Hay el Selloum - Beirut), Issa Ibn Mariam (Khyam, South Lebanon), Al Baker (Hermel) and Al Bachaer (Baalbeck).

In this spirit, and in order to make the 5 school communities aware of the importance of permaculture, a concept that transcends the frontiers of agriculture to become a way of life and a philosophy of sustainability, several training and planting sessions for teachers and students in these schools have been organised, to anchor the concepts and values of permaculture in their representations and practices and to establish spaces of permaculture within their schools. The pedagogy of interdisciplinary projects as a tool for sustainable development was also the subject of these trainings.

Permaculture: Formation des écoles de l’Association Mabarrat 

Pour la deuxième année consécutive, la Chaire CEEDD collabore étroitement avec l’Association Mabarrat dans le cadre d’un projet de formation des communautés scolaires d’écoles appartenant à son réseau, à la permaculture. Suite au succès du projet de collaboration 2017-2018, implémenté auprès de 3 écoles de l’Association, celle-ci a engagé cette année 5 écoles dans un programme de formation à la permaculture, en collaboration avec notre Chaire: AlHadi (Beyrouth), Al Moujtaba (Hay el Selloum - Beyrouth), Issa Ibn Mariam (Khyam, Liban Sud), Al Baker (Hermel) et Al Bachaer (Baalbeck).

Dans cet esprit, et afin de sensibiliser les 5 communautés scolaires à l’importance de la permaculture, concept qui dépasse les frontières de l’agriculture pour devenir un mode de vie et une philosophie de durabilité, plusieurs sessions de formation et de plantation auprès des enseignants et des élèves de ces écoles ont été organisées, afin d’ancrer les concepts et les valeurs de la permaculture dans leurs représentations et leurs pratiques et de mettre en place des espaces de permaculture au sein de leurs établissements scolaires. La pédagogie de projets interdisciplinaires comme outil au service du développement durable, a également fait l’objet de ces formations.
