Tracy Kefraoui and Rhea Nader, first year ETIB students at USJ, participated in the English Speaking Union’s National Public Speaking Competition held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Lebanese American University (LAU). This year’s theme was “Nature is a common language”. Among some other 15 participants from a total of 8 universities across Lebanon, our contestants, Tracy and Rhéa took the floor each presenting her speech titled respectively “It’s not fate; it’s nature” and “Along the lines of music, a universal language”. Once done with the speech presentation, the contestants were asked two questions by one of the jury members or by the audience who were former ESU participants or relatives to other contestants. Through this competition, the contestants, aged between 16 and 21 years old, were able to develop public speaking and communication skills.
