The Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) had the honor of hosting H.E. Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Lebanon, along with Consul Saif Majid Al-Mansouri, for an official visit to the Rectorate on Damascus Street on May 28, 2024.
This meeting, held from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, brought together the Rector, vice-rectors, deans, directors, and the Secretary-General of USJ. It provided an opportunity to showcase the University’s achievements and projects.
During the discussions, Ambassador Al Thani expressed his desire to strengthen relations between Qatar and USJ. Attention was also drawn to the integration of more Qatari students at USJ, as well as the development of academic collaborations with universities in Qatar. Additionally, he emphasized the importance Qatar places on its relations with Lebanon and USJ.
USJ representatives outlined the current challenges facing the University, while also highlighting successful collaborations already established. Moreover, they expressed gratitude for Qatar’s unwavering support and interest in Lebanon and USJ.
This meeting marks a pivotal milestone in strengthening academic and cultural ties between Qatar and USJ, paving the way for future collaboration and exchange opportunities.
