It was a great pleasure and honor for the Dean of the USJ Business School to actively participate in the round table organized by International Fairs and Promotions (IFP) during the Project Lebanon show titled “Lebanon Going Forward," which was organized in cooperation with the CCI France Liban. Dean Zmokhol began his intervention by emphasizing the importance of uncovering the truth of what truly occurred on August 4th, 2020, before proceeding with the reconstruction of the port, ensuring that such a tragedy never recurs. Additionally, to aspire to regain its status as a regional hub and platform, it is imperative to prioritize security measures, combat smuggling diligently, provide professional maintenance for docking ships, offer competitive pricing compared to the region, and focus on hosting tourist boats. Without these foundational governance and managerial elements, it will be impossible to rebuild on a solid foundation.
