The definition of UFO is “Unidentified Flying Object”, this doesn’t mean that it is an alien spaceship, but it is an unknown “thing” and comes in multiple shapes. The term is widely used for claimed observations of extraterrestrial spacecraft. Recently, two new sights occurred, an american airline pilot saw a mysterious object flying on the 21st of February and I quote: “ ...have any targets up here? We just had something go right over the top of us… It looked like a long cylindrical object… moving really fast…”. The american airline confirmed that radio transmission. This comes just a year after the Pentagon released three videos of unidentified flying objects recorded by navy fighter pilots. The Navy videos were first released between December 2017 and March 2018 by “To The Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences”, a company that studies information about unidentified aerial phenomena. In 2017, one of the pilots who saw one of the unidentified objects in 2004 told CNN that it moved in ways he couldn't explain.

"As I got close to it ... it rapidly accelerated to the south, and disappeared in less than two seconds," said retired US Navy pilot David Fravor.

The US military recorded ‘a lot more’ UFO sightings than made public. The second news is more interesting, The Pentagon has evidence of UFOs breaking the sound barrier without a sonic boom and of other “difficult to explain” phenomena, said John Ratcliffe, the Director of National Intelligence under the Trump administration. The objects reportedly “traveled at speeds that exceed the sound barrier without a sonic boom,” Ratcliffe said. When an aircraft increases its speed, pressure waves build up on it and eventually coalesce into a single shockwave. When the plane outruns that shockwave and travels faster than the speed of sound in air, it causes a sudden change in pressure, which in turn creates the sonic boom. There’s no publicly available scientific data to suggest that any aircraft can break the sound barrier without producing a sonic boom; while engineers can take steps to try to reduce sonic booms, physics says it’s impossible to outright eliminate it.
