During the first semester, this course focuses on introducing M1 students to the techniques of On-Sight oral translation of a written article or essay from Arabic to English. By doing so, students learn to analyze and verbalize the meaning of the written text, thus rendering the content as accurately and swiftly as possible in the target language. This course, which is carried forward through the second semester as well, serves as a solid basis for Simultaneous Interpretation with and without visual support, teaching students, with time and practice, to understand and ultimately foresee the intended meaning of the speaker.
