Color stability of 3D printed resin used for inlays using immersion mediums: An in vitro study.

Description :

In the literature, color stability has been determined for several materials. Radwan and Co. determined in an in vitro study the surface roughness and color stability of temporary crown material using the additive technique. The results showed a significant change in both factors. (13) But another study done by Abdel Sadek and Co. showed less color change than the conventional bis-acrylic composite restorations. (14) However, the color stability of resin used for definitive restorations such as inlays hasn't been studied thoroughly. So, due to the limited data regarding our subject, the aim of the study will be to examine the effect of many factors on the color stability of 3D printed resin for inlay use. The color stability will be noted at different time intervals using a control group and immersion mediums. The duration of the study will be four weeks to stimulate approximately 2 and a half years intra-orally. (15) A spectrophotometer will be used to determine the color of the inlays in each time interval. The delta E will be calculated to see the difference in each interval and if the change will be significant and perceivable
