A one-year comparative study of the clinical behavior of a monochromatic and a nano filled composite resin. An in vivo study.

Description :

One of the most challenging tasks related to rising aesthetic demands in dentistry is to achieve a restoration that matches the color and appearance of a natural tooth. Often, dental restorations are replaced because of a color mismatch and more than 80% of patients are reportedly aware of color differences between the restored and the adjacent natural teeth. (1) Aim of the study: The aim of this study is to compare the aesthetic properties with time between a nano filled composite resin: (Z350, 3M) and a monochromatic resin composite: (Omnichroma, TOKOYAMA) and its special and unique Chameleon effect characteristics. A pilot study will be done on a sample of 20 patients attending to one of the 2 private clinics : one in Ballouneh and the other one in achrafiyeh , by the author , with paired number of class 5 cavities which will be followed up for a 12-month period.
