Assessment of mandibular buccal shelf bone height and thickness in different vertical facial growth patterns.

Description :

The mandibular buccal shelf is located in a buccal position between the first and second lower molars. The buccal shelf might be used as an anchorage site for orthodontic screws as well as an autogenous bone donor site. Fransworth, Chang and Nucera investigated this zone without considering any growth factor patterns. The second study will investigate the impact of skeletal class on the mandibular buccal shelf in terms of bone volume, thickness and height.
