This course provides the students with an in-depth overview of the banking system in the UAE, based both on conventional and on Islamic banking and finance. The discussions will examine the legal framework of the licensed financial institutions in the UAE, including banks, authorised to undertake licensed financial activities, as well as the regulatory and supervision bodies headed by Central Bank. The course also covers some legal issues related to international banking.
