Mrs Yolla EL KHOURY ATALLAH is Honorary Director and teacher-researcher at the School of Midwifery at Saint-Joseph University (USJ) in Beirut, where she has dedicated more than 25 years to teaching and research in the field of midwifery. She holds a wide range of degrees, including a Master's in Advanced Obstetric Practice and a Master's in Nursing Sciences Research. Her academic background is also enriched by several specialized university diplomas and certificates in pedagogy, perineal rehabilitation, obstetrical mechanics, obstetrical emergencies, and childbirth preparation. Throughout her career, Mrs Atallah has contributed to the establishment of various training programs at the ESF-USJ, including university diplomas and a Master's in Midwifery. She served as the Director of the School of Midwifery from 2010 to 2019 and supervised numerous research projects in maternal health at different institutes and faculties of USJ. Passionate about pedagogical innovation, she has also been involved in creating continuing educational programs and workshops for midwives and other healthcare professionals, in collaboration with international institutions. Her research has been presented at international conferences, and she is regularly sought after for her expertise in pedagogy and perinatal care. She has also served as a consultant in evaluating midwifery curricula in different countries. Mrs Atallah is also the founder of the Lebanese Association of University Midwives, which worked for the creation of the order of midwives in Lebanon. She also founded a perinatal center in 2016. Her work has contributed to improving perinatal practices in Lebanon, especially among professional midwives.
