I was born in Beirut, at the dawn of the Lebanese war. My various commitments personal quest led me to undertake studies in theology, philosophy, liturgy, and music. After five years of studies at Saint-Esprit University of Kaslik, I went to France in 2000 to obtain two doctorates, one in philosophy (Paris 1 – La Sorbonne, 2007) and another in theology (Strasbourg – 2011). From 2012 to 2019, I was a teaching-researcher, lecturer, and then full professor (Roman titularization) at the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University of Lille. At the same time, I taught at the College of Bernardins, the Catholic University of Lyon, and Saint Joseph University of Beirut. It is at the latter that I am currently affiliated. I have always been sensitive to the cause of Eastern Christians, wondering how to develop a broad reflection on the issue that leads to praxis. In 2019, I left my position in Lille to devote myself fully to this endeavor. Thanks to the indispensable support of the Œuvre dOrient—of which I have been a part since 2011—and the support and help of a large number of friends and colleagues, to whom I express my deepest gratitude, the adventure of the Institut chrétiens d’Orient (ICO) began in October 2020.
