Dr. Jana Aouad holds a PhD, a Masters, a Bachelors degree in Translation from the School of Translators Interpreters of Beirut (ETIB) at Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ). She also pursued further studies in the domain of orientation for young adults at INETOP in Paris, France. She began her career in 2008 within the Student Information Career Guidance Service at the Rectorate of USJ, where she held several positions before being appointed as Director in March 2021. She has also taught English and currently teaches translation of media and literary texts to Master’s students at the ETIB. Her specialization lies in creative translation and wordplay. She has participated in several international conferences, such as those at McGill University in Montreal and Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris, among others. Additionally, since 2016, she has been a sworn translator and expert for the courts in Lebanon.

The topic of her PhD thesis was to highlight the impact of the translators gender on translated texts in the literary field to demonstrate that the translators gender (female male other) could sometimes influence the act of translation.
