Sami RICHA was elected in 2023 Foreign correspondent member of French Academy of Medicine.

He is a full Professor of Psychiatry at Faculty of Medicine of Saint-Joseph University. 

Since 2008, he is head of the Department of Psychiatry at Faculty of Medicine of Saint- Joseph University. 

In 2010, he founded the Department of Psychiatry at Hôtel-Dieu de France. He was Chairman of this Department from 2010 till 2023. 

He got in 2009 a PhD in Bioethics from the Faculty of Medicine of Aix-Marseille University. 

He published more than 150 indexed articles, many chapters in books and seven books. 

He is affiliated to many local and international scientific societies. 

He is President of Committee of Ethics in Hôtel-Dieu de France and member of Lebanese National Consultative Committee on Ethics.
