Michèle Habbaki pursued her translation studies at the School of Translators and Interpreters of Beirut (ETIB) and holds a PhD in Languages from the Faculty of Languages and translation (FdLT) of the Saint-Joseph University. She first started teaching at USJ in 2007, giving French remedial courses. Soon after that, she started teaching translation at the Center of Languages and Translation (CLT) of the Lebanese University, and the Islamic University of Lebanon where she taught different translation courses in different language combinations and various domains, including general, economic, literary translation and more. Today, she continues to teach translation and languages at ETIB as well as at the CLT. She is also part of the teaching team at the Institut Francais du Liban (IFL) where she teaches French as foreign languages for the A1 (beginner) to C1 (advanced) levels. In addition, she is a corrective examiner for the DELF/DALF (the proficiency diplomas of French language issued by the French Ministry of Education). Beyond her teaching activities, she is part of the reading-editing committee of Al-Kīmiyā, a journal published by the FdLT and she continues being a translator, taking on translation projects for various international and local NGOs and media offices.
