Salim Mrad was born in Beirut in December 1987. He studied cinema at the Saint-Joseph University of Beirut (IESAV). Salim explores fiction in its many facets through several successive medium-length films along his masters degree in directing, e.g. The Demolition" (2011) "x: the conception" (2012). Then, for several years, he embarked on the adventure of his first feature film, a documentary essay "This Little Father Obsession" (Official Selection Visions du Réel 2016 and special mention from the Jury at the JCC 2016) before writing a memoir on the 'Screen-sacrifice' which he presented in 2017 with a view to obtaining a master's degree in film research. Then, Salim begins an experimental trilogy on the themes of the body, the nude and the sense of community. He also publishes two collections of short stories with Les Impliqués Editeur, Paris. Salim teaches cinema in several establishments in Beirut and is currently working on finalizing his most recent films.
