Dr. Pauline Abou Jaoudé holds degrees in Medicine (2003) and Pediatrics (2007) from Saint Joseph University, Beirut. She then pursued advanced training in pediatric nephrology and kidney transplantation at the Reference Center for Rare Kidney Diseases at the Femme-Mère-Enfant University Hospital in Bron (2006 – 2009), Lyon, France. It was there that she began her professional career as a hospital practitioner in the Department of Pediatric Nephrology and Rheumatology. Upon returning to Lebanon in 2011, Dr. Abou Jaoudé became actively involved in the development of pediatric nephrology across several hospitals in the country, gaining extensive hands-on experience in dialysis and kidney transplantation. She currently holds a full-time position in the Department of Pediatrics at Hôtel-Dieu de France in Beirut. In parallel, Dr. Abou Jaoudé has engaged in academic teaching, first as an assistant professor in Pediatrics at the Lebanese American University (LAU) and the University of Balamand, before joining the faculty of Saint Joseph University of Beirut in September 2022 as a Lecturer in Pediatrics. Dr. Abou Jaoudé has also contributed significantly to scientific communications and publications in international journals. She is an active member of numerous local and international scientific societies, including the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), where she serves on the Board of Directors for the Middle East region and is part of the awareness working group. Additionally, she is a co-founder and the current president of KIDNEYDS, an NGO dedicated to supporting children with chronic kidney diseases in Lebanon.
