Myriam Mehanna holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas, with a thesis titled The Consideration of the Other Contractual Party's Interest. She also holds a Master 2 (Research) in General Private Law from Sorbonne University – Paris 1, as well as a law degree from the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences at Saint Joseph University in Beirut. She is a lawyer and researcher with extensive expertise in socio-economic rights, the rule of law, and judicial independence. For eight years, Mehanna served as a senior researcher and member of the editorial board at Legal Agenda, a Beirut-based NGO and research center. She later became Head of the Research and Legislation Department and co-founded the organization’s Parliamentary Observatory. She continues to serve as a member of Legal Agenda's General Assembly. Mehanna is a regular consultant for UN- and EU-led reform projects in Lebanon. Currently, she is a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Saint Joseph University in Beirut.
