Dr. Zeina Aoun Bacha is a pulmonologist and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. She serves as the Head of the Pulmonology and Intensive Care Department at Hôtel-Dieu de France University Hospital in Beirut. She was the President of the Lebanese Pulmonary Society from 2019 to 2021, contributing significantly to the advancement of respiratory medicine in Lebanon. One of her key achievements is the establishment of the National Registry for Rare Pulmonary Diseases. Dr. Aoun Bacha has been actively involved in tobacco control since 2004 and leads the Smoking Cessation Center at Hôtel-Dieu de France. She also introduced tobacco studies as an elective credit in the medical curriculum at the university. An active researcher, she has served as a principal investigator or coordinator in numerous national and international studies, with her work published in several peer-reviewed journals. Her expertise includes the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, lung cancer, interstitial lung diseases (ILDs), and smoking cessation. Dr. Aoun Bacha is well-recognized in the medical community, both nationally and internationally, for her contributions to pulmonology.
