He holds a State Doctorate in Medieval History from Saint Joseph University, Beirut, 1984, with honors: very good, a third cycle Doctorate in Medieval History from the Sorbonne University, Paris I, 1980, with honors: very good. He has held academic and scientific positions: Vice-President for Research at the Islamic University of Lebanon (IUL) (2016-2018), Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (IUL) (2006-2008) and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the Lebanese University (UL) (2006-2008). Chair of the committees for the reform of LMD programs at the Faculty of Arts at UL and IUL. He has also supervised theses and dissertations at UL, IUL, USJ, and USEK. He is a Co-founding Member of the Lebanese Group for Friendship and Interfaith Dialogue - USJ (GLADIC). Professor Ahmad Hoteit is the author of several historical works.
