Elie Bou Yazbeck is appointed as the Assistant to the DG for technical affairs since 2020 and as Food Science Expert since 2009 at The Ministry of Economy and Trade, Lebanon.  He is also a University lecturer for several B.S. and M.S. levels courses related to Nutrition, Food quality & safety and research methodologies at several universities in Lebanon (USJ, LAU, USEK, and NDU) since 2004.  He is also an adjunct professor at Laval University in Canada.

He earned a Ph.D. in Biology & Agro-Environmental Biotechnology from University of Perugia-Italy and a Master in Food and Nutrition in developing countries from University of Montpellier-France. He is an expert in Food Regulatory Sciences and in Data Management. Dr. Bou Yazbeck is a member of National Codex Alimentarius Committee and the National Food Safety committee. Also, he is a member of the Executive Committee of the Arab section of AOAC INTERNATIONAL as well as the Global Food Regulatory Science Society – GFoRSS, among others. Dr. Bou Yazbeck is a consultant in Agro-food Sciences with more than 22 years of experience in Lebanon and abroad.
