Mot de la directrice

Since its founding 25 years ago at Saint Joseph University of Beirut, the Institute of Psychomotor Therapy (IPM) has been committed to training professionals capable of supporting individuals in all their dimensions: physical, psychological, relational, and cognitive. This mission is fully aligned with the humanistic and academic tradition of USJ, which for over 150 years has been dedicated to knowledge and to the dignity of the human person.

The IPM has grown through the vision and commitment of pioneering individuals, the quality of its academic supervision, and the continuous integration of teaching, clinical practice, and research. Faithful to the very essence of psychomotor therapy, the Institute remains in constant evolution, attentive to scientific developments, field realities, and the changing needs of the health, education, and social sectors.

Today, building on its experience and trajectory, the IPM continues to strengthen its identity while advancing ambitious projects. The psychomotor therapy curriculum has been modernized to meet international academic standards and professional demands: the revision of the Bachelor’s degree, the restructuring of the Master’s program with specialized tracks, the launch of the Bachelor in Psychomotor Therapy, and the integration of new technologies and artificial intelligence within the Psychomotor Therapy Diagnostic, Care, and Research Center.

Affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and firmly committed to interdisciplinarity, the IPM places research, ethics, and pedagogical innovation at the core of its strategic vision. It strives to educate competent, reflective, creative, and deeply human psychomotor therapists who are capable of making a lasting impact in their professional and societal environments, both in Lebanon and internationally.

Above all, the IPM is a living community: a dedicated team, engaged students, and alumni who actively contribute to the development and visibility of psychomotor therapy in Lebanon and beyond. With pride and confidence, we continue this journey, resolutely looking toward the future.
