H.E. Abbas El Halabi is a former Minister of Education and Higher Education, a former magistrate, and a legal advisor.
He is President and co-founder of the Arab Islamic-Christian Dialogue Group and a member of the National Islamic-Christian Dialogue Committee. He served as President of the Culture Commission at the 40th session of UNESCO’s General Conference and is Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ). He also serves as President of the USJ Faculty of Law and Political Science Alumni Association and as Chairman and founding member of the Board of the Druze Community Health Establishment – Ain W Zein.
H.E. Abbas El Halabi was an advisor at the Taif Conference and represented the Druze community at the Synod for Lebanon at the Vatican. He has also held roles within several academic and community institutions and continues to contribute to public dialogue and governance. He has published numerous articles and studies in local and regional newspapers and periodicals on public, political, intellectual, economic, financial, legal, and banking affairs, including:
