Conditions for Admission

Bachelor’s Degree Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation, Language, or Literature from an accredited university in the UAE. If obtained from a university outside the UAE, the degree must be recognized with a Certificate of Recognition from the Ministry of Education in the UAE.

Applicants who do not hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation, Language or Literature but hold a Bachelor’s Degree in another field from an accredited university—or, if obtained from outside the UAE, a degree recognized with a Certificate of Recognition from the Ministry of Education in the UAE— must complete language and translation tutoring courses in English and in Arabic before the end of the first semester.

GPA Requirement

Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.1 on a 4.0 scale, or its established equivalent.

Language proficiency requirement

Holders of a Translation, Language, or Literature degree must pass the university’s admission test. The test covers essential language and translation skills including receptive and productive ability to provide a comprehensive measure of a candidate’s readiness for bilingual engagement.

All other applicants must register for the Language and Translation Tutoring courses.

Interview

Applicants must undergo an interview with the program academic coordinator.

Conditional Admission:

Applicants who do not meet the GPA requirement or the Language proficiency requirement may be considered for conditional admission for their first semester under specific conditions.

Required Documents

All applicants shall provide the following documents to apply for the Master in Translation:

  1. Registration form duly completed
  2. Copy of student passport (valid) and Emirates ID (valid)
  3. Copy of valid residence visa for non-UAE Nationals (or to apply for a Student Visa application process through the University)
  4. Certified copy of the High School Diploma or its equivalent by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates and High School transcripts (Year 12)
  5. Copy of University degree by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates (all fields accepted) and University transcripts
  6. 3 recent passport-size colored photographs
  7. Good Conduct Certificate (valid)
  8. Copy of Family book, Unified and Ethbara number for UAE Nationals

- Applicants who earned their undergraduate degrees from universities outside the UAE must present Certificate of Equivalency for their graduation certificates from the UAE Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Affairs Division.

Fees

Registration fees of 1575 AED inclusive of 5% VAT(nonrefundable)

Language placement tests (if applicable):

- English test: 400 AED (inclusive of 5% VAT)
- Arabic test: 400 (inclusive of 5% VAT)
