For many decades and in various forms, Data Analytics has been an “active ingredient” in multiple fields. From electoral gallops and predictive marketing to the study sensor data in particle accelerators, data analytics is ever-present. As the amount of information we consume and produce increases daily, the area of Data Analytics has been tran sformed to take into account massive amounts of diverse data by extending ideas and tools from the “Data Analytics” domain to the Big Data technologies.
Big data is a popular term used to describe the exponential growth and availability of data, both structured and unstructured. Following the internet revolution, Big Data is the next big thing that might affect every one of us at personal level as well as within the global community. It is the start of a new era where tremendous amount of data can assist in providing reliable decision making through higher accuracy analysis. The analytical tools offered by Big Data analysis might result - when utilized properly - in higher operation efficiency, cost reduction, and critical risk retirement.
DaTalks aims to raise awareness around Big Data and to address the specific needs for data analytics in various Lebanese industries by tackling the challenges faced during the implementation of data analytics, and presenting available solutions and approaches to be adopted in private and public sectors: health, banking, energy, food industry, agriculture, insurance, tech, etc.
DaTalks is a one-day workshop, held at CST Campus-USJ, on November 18, 2017, featuring few executives from the Silicon Valley with broad experience in Big Data Analytics sharing their perspective and experience. During this event, many local Lebanese professionals and companies will showcase the latest ideas and success stories, share experiences and information, and develop recommendations for the Big Data field within Lebanon.
