USJ on a Mission to Kuwait: A Promising Encounter with Lebanese Youth![]() The Student Information and Orientation Office (SIO) of the Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) traveled to Kuwait from February 1 to 3, 2026, to take part in HigherEd Kuwait 2026, one of the region’s main international higher education forums. Held under the supervision of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Higher Education and supported by EducationUSA, Campus France, Amideast, and PAAET, this major event brings together students, parents, and stakeholders in the education sector to explore higher education opportunities offered by local and international universities. The SIO’s participation in the event proved particularly fruitful. During the university fair, the team met with numerous students and families, including many Lebanese residents in Kuwait who were delighted to reconnect with a Lebanese university and highly interested in pursuing their studies in Lebanon. The exchanges reflected a strong attachment to their homeland and a genuine motivation to join USJ. In parallel, the SIO made presentations at the Lycée Français de Koweït and the American International School, two institutions hosting a large number of Lebanese students. These meetings provided an opportunity to present USJ’s academic programs, admission requirements, financial aid options, and the richness of student life, while guiding students in their academic orientation and higher education plans. The mission also included official visits to His Excellency the Ambassador of Lebanon to Kuwait Mr. Ghady El Khoury and to the Consul of Lebanon Mrs. Mia Adem, highlighting the importance of maintaining strong ties between the University and the Lebanese diaspora. ![]()
