European Reaccreditation by ACQUIN Granted Without conditions, for a period of 8 years![]() On November 10, 2025, the university community gathered in the auditorium of the Raymond and Aïda Najjar Building at the Faculty of Medicine to celebrate a historic milestone: the unconditional institutional reaccreditation for 8 years of Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) by the European agency ACQUIN. The event brought together Prof. Salim Daccache, S.J., Rector of USJ; Prof. François Boëdec, S.J., Rector-designate; Prof. Nada Moghaizel-Nasr, Honorary Dean and Delegate of the Rector; as well as vice-rectors, deans, directors, faculty members, staff, students, and alumni. USJ had earned its first institutional accreditation in 2019, under the leadership of Rector Salim Daccache, S.J., and under the coordination of Prof. Moghaizel-Nasr. Prof. Nada Moghaizel-Nasr paid tribute to Prof. Salim Daccache, S.J., whom she described as an “exceptional captain,” an entrepreneur, and a builder who chose hope. Taking the floor, the Rector began by paying tribute to Prof. Moghaizel-Nasr, “who steered this demanding process with rigor and inspiration,” before recalling that this unconditional institutional reaccreditation for 8 years represents “a resounding recognition of USJ’s mission and excellence,” as well as “a commitment to continue on the path of quality.” He expressed his “deep gratitude” to the university community, whose unity and resilience impressed the ACQUIN experts. In closing, he reaffirmed that this reaccreditation marks “the beginning of a renewed collective commitment,” carried by the continuity of the Ignatian spirit: always reaching higher, further, and stronger, for knowledge, for Lebanon, and all of Humanity. ![]()
