Ever since I was a child, I was always interested in arts, and as I grew up, my passion towards the different forms of art grew with me; painting, singing, writing, crafting, playing the guitar, and even martial arts. Today, I’m still very passionate about my artistic side, and continue to explore every inch of it. So the question here is, why did I go into translation as a major? I’ll get into that right away.

As I mentioned, growing up with multiple talents is a blessing, but during my teenage years, it proved to also be a curse, why? Because I was torn between many majors that were going to shape my career. First it was architecture, then it was psychology, and in the end, I was accepted at USJ in three majors: laboratory studies, filming and acting, and of course, translation. Many obstacles came with this decision, such as future financial stability and so on. I mainly chose translation because it allows me to put my curiosity into use, since it’s mostly about culture. What I didn’t know is that it is much more than that. As I was studying, I got more into arts as a way of expressing myself, which is the same in translation, it is a way of expressing one’s self.

I would choose this major all over again, as it didn’t only make me explore my artistic side, but it also made me feel like I belong.
