A delegation from the American Task Force for Lebanon (ATFL), headed by Ambassador Edward M. Gabriel, visited the Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ) on June 19, 2019. The rector of USJ, Professor Salim Daccache, s.j., welcomed the delegation, along with General Secretary for the USJ Foundation, Ms. Carmel Wakim, Vice Rector for International Affairs, Professor Carla Eddé, and Ms. Tala Khlat.

Rector Daccache exchanged views with the delegation on the higher education sector in Lebanon and more specifically the achievements and challenges facing the Saint Joseph University. Ambassador Gabriel expressed his support to USJ especially when it comes to the different alumni chapters in the United States. The rector reiterated the importance of strengthening the relations with ATFL as an organization as well as with all of its members.

Rector Daccache thanked the organization for all the efforts it has mobilized in the US to support Lebanon and its higher education institutions.
