We are proud and honored to share the recent publication of our colleagues' article, "The ICT usage in the Middle East: contribution to the development of society," in the Journal of Decisions Systems, part of the Taylor & Francis group.
The article aims to understand and analyze the illusion of control over ICT in the Middle Eastern context and to link the variables drawn from the illusion of control concept—trust, skills, familiarity, and benefits—to success and to improve the user’s life. These variables were chosen because they best fit ICT use.
We identified trust and skills as the two most influential variables in the illusion of control in this context. We recommended public policies to promote best practices and implement training programs that allow ICT users to manage technological tools and overcome potential risks.
