On September 23, Lebanon was shaken, and so were we. Music was silenced, leaving only chaos in its wake. But we will not allow silence to define us. As choristers, we are the voice of life that persists. Bound together by music, we will sing and drown out the sounds of chaos and amplify the vibrant pulse of life.
After everything we have been through, we invite you to join us on December 18 and 19 for an uplifting concert of Choral Jazz Fusion, to bring warmth to our hearts and celebrate life. The concert delves into the expressive and vibrant world of Jazz, featuring an array of driving grooves, blues-infused harmonies, intricate polyrhythms, and spontaneous improvisation.
Join the USJ Choir, along with the Beirut Jazz Quartet and soprano soloist Marie-Josee Matar, under the direction of Yasmina Sabbah, for a truly unique and heartwarming Christmas celebration.
The center piece of the evening will be Will Todd’s “Mass in Blue,” a dynamic, uplifting, and highly acclaimed jazz setting of the Latin mass. Complementing this centerpiece, the program will also include popular Jazz standards and jazzy arrangements of Christmas carols, offering a warm and festive holiday experience.
