June 26, 2024

On 26 June 2024, the Faculty of Law at Saint Joseph University Dubai was honored to visit the DIFC Courts, where the delegation – composed of the Dean, Professor Marie-Claude Najm, the vice-dean Dr. Rita Waked and the Director of USJ Dubai Campus Dr. Nathalie Sabbagh - was received by His Excellency Justice Omar Al Mheiri, Director of the DIFC Courts, and members of the Courts team.

The visit provided an invaluable opportunity for the delegation to explore the DIFC Courts’ procedures, learn about recent developments, and engage with programs aimed at shaping the future of legal practice.

This visit reflects our commitment to offering students and faculty exposure to leading legal institutions, allowing them to gain practical insights into the dynamic judicial landscape of the UAE,” said the Dean of the Law School at Saint Joseph University Dubai, Professor Marie-Claude Najm. “We appreciate the DIFC Courts’ efforts to share their expertise and vision for empowering future legal practitioners.”

The collaboration aligns with Saint Joseph University Dubai’s mission to provide its law students with a robust education that bridges theoretical knowledge and real-world application. The discussions during the visit emphasized the shared goal of cultivating legal excellence and innovation in the region, and paved the ground for the landmark Memorandum of Understanding signed by the University and DIFC Courts a few months later.
