In a significant gesture of solidarity and commitment to education, initiated by the Alumni Chapter in Houston, Texas, United States, Mr. Iraj Tajgardoon signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Saint Joseph University of Beirut (USJ), represented by its rector, Prof. Salim Daccache, s.j. This agreement marks the establishment of the “TAJ Medical Scholarship” Subscription Scholarship Fund, an initiative that honors the memory of the late Mr. Touraj Tajgardoon, father of Mr. Iraj Tajgardoon, while providing financial support to USJ students selected according to rigorous criteria.

The “TAJ Medical Scholarship” Subscription Scholarship Fund is exclusively dedicated to students enrolled in the Faculty of Medicine, based on both their academic merit and their financially circumstances that would otherwise prevent them from continuing their studies. To be eligible, candidates must not only hold a good overall average but also maintain a high cumulative GPA throughout the sponsorship period.

This Scholarship Fund will cover the entirety of their tuition fees from the fourth year until the end of their studies. In return, beneficiaries commit to maintaining high academic standards and once established in their profession, to sponsor a student in turn.

This initiative embodies a model of social responsibility and compassion, reflecting Mr. Iraj Tajgardoon's dedication to perpetuate his father’s legacy. The “TAJ Medical Scholarship” Subscription Fund represents an investment in the future of medicine in Lebanon.

By providing this support, the Fund aims to promote equal opportunities for all students passionate about pursuing a career in medicine, despite the current challenges they may face.
