EMT-ETIB Collaboration Continues: A Guarantee of Quality Training

Thursday, June 6, 2024

We are thrilled to announce that the prestigious European Master’s in Translation (EMT) quality label for 2024-2029 has been granted to the School of Translators and Interpreters of Beirut (ETIB) for the second consecutive time!

Awarded by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation (DGT), this label recognizes the academic excellence and professional relevance of ETIB’s Master’s degree in Translation. Our program meets rigorous professional standards, increasingly geared up for artificial intelligence and market requirements.

The renewal of this label highlights ETIB’s ongoing commitment to excellence in translation training. We continually adapt our curriculum and teaching methods to meet the evolving needs of the translation market. In fact, the selection criteria primarily considered the level of integration of translation technologies in training, as well as the measures taken to establish a fair balance between human expertise and artificial intelligence.

Out of the 90 applications received for the 2024-2029 period, 81 were accepted, including ETIB’s. Since its first selection in 2019, ETIB has remained the only institution from Lebanon and the countries participating in the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) to appear on the list of EMT member countries, thereby strengthening Lebanon’s presence in the international translation community.

With this renewed recognition, ETIB not only stands out as a leader in translation education in Lebanon but also as a preferred partner in the EMT network, advancing the profession and fostering high-quality standards in translation.

ETIB is proud to share this exciting news! Don’t miss the official announcement on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhieSCGGpms.
