On November 19, 2023, Fadi Masri (FDSP ‘92) was elected the new president of the Beirut Bar Association (BBA). Emerging victorious with 1,973 votes, Masri secured his position with a 23-vote lead over his opponent, Abdo Lahoud. In achieving this milestone, Masri not only marked a personal triumph but also etched his name into the annals of history as a distinguished alum of Saint Joseph University of Beirut.
Fadi Masri’s academic career began at Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour, laying the groundwork for his subsequent enrollment at USJ’s Faculty of Law and Political Science (FDSP), where he graduated in 1992. His dedication to justice, evident from his early days at FDSP, has flourished throughout his career. A BBA member since 1993, Masri’s professional career started at Fady Ziadé’s firm before founding his own practice, JurisBeirut, in 2010. In 2021, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Beirut Bar Association, further solidifying his commitment to the Lebanese legal community.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Masri has left an indelible mark on the Lebanese legal landscape. As a founding member of the Lebanese Transparency Association (LTA), he actively participates in the legal committees of the Lebanese Olympic Commission and the Alumni Association of Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour.
The 2023 BBA election also saw the appointment of five other accomplished lawyers to the Bar, including two FDSP alumni: Abdo Lahoud (FSDP ‘76) and Elie Klimos (FDSP ‘08).
