The Faculty of Business and Management has the great pleasure and honor to welcome our colleague Dr. Ursula El-Hage into its large family. She will be lecturing the new master’s course entitled “Customer Focused Innovation”. Through this course, students will be introduced to the principles of design thinking, especially as applied to the three essentials for innovating success – user desirability, technical feasibility, and business/economic viability.
Dr. El Hage is the Director of the Entrepreneurship Center and the Career Placement Office at Saint Joseph University of Beirut and Vice-President of The Rural Initiative. She’s an FGM alumni, holding an Executive Doctorate in Business Administration from our Paris Dauphine-PSL – Sorbonne Business School (IAE Paris) - USJ EDBA program and certifications from Stanford, Harvard, and EFQM. She has wide experience in organizational development, innovation, and entrepreneurship with a special focus on educational institutions.
She headed the entrepreneurship program at the Catholic University of Santiago of Guayaquil, where she led the “Learn to be an entrepreneur” program for high schools. She co-founded the European Management Center (specialized in high schools’ management and innovation consultancy) and two NGOs: CODEFE in Ecuador, CODEP in Peru where she assessed over 100 institutions with a special focus on high schools. Her publications have been presented in various national and international forums, such as, the American Academy of Management, G3, and ADERSE.
