The Faculty of Business and Management has the great pleasure and honor to welcome Dr. Adel Al-Alam into its large family. He will be lecturing the master’s course entitled “Bond Portfolio Management”.

Dr. Al Alam is a senior lecturer and an established researcher since 2009 at several universities in Lebanon. He obtained a PhD in Physics and Chemistry of Condensed Matter from the University of Bordeaux in 2009, after completing his MS in Physics specialized in Laser, Matter, and Nanoscience in 2006, also at the University of Bordeaux. He is a PhD fellow in Finance at the Université de Montpellier in France since 2021. He is the author of more than 30 peer-reviewed research papers. His research has both fundamental and applied focuses. His areas of research have included material sciences, condensed matter, the density functional theory, corporate finance, banking performance, digital marketing, consumer behavior, and entrepreneurship. Recently, behavioral finance, CEO’s market sentiment, firm innovation, firm performance, capital structure, and corporate social responsibility have the main focus of his research. His teaching profile and expertise include physics, statistics, quantitative research methods, econometrics, business analytics (CFA level), operational research, derivatives, financial engineering, and financial risk management. In addition, Dr. Al Alam is a partner and the lead statistician at the Street Pulse (part of the Paramedium Group S.A.L.), a company specialized in market research.
