To mark the International Volunteer Day which takes place every year on December 5th, the Rector of Saint-Joseph University of Beirut, Prof. Salim Daccache s.j. and the Steering Committee of Operation Day 7 (O7) through its President, Dr. Grace Abi-Rizk, its members, Prof. Liliane Buccianti-Barakat, Prof. Wehbeh Farah and its Coordinator, Mr. Joe Hatem hosted a dinner at L’Atelier on December 10, 2021 to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Operation Day 7. Vice-Rectors Geara and Rizk and the Heads of the 34 O7 Cells were also invited.
Dr. Grace Abi-Rizk expressed her thanks to the Rector and the Heads of the 34 Cells who, in spite of all challenges and difficulties, carried out several activities with their students during the year 2020-2021, and who were always present at the initiatives aiming to provide help to underprivileged communities.
Then, Prof. Salim Daccache s.j., thanked the Steering Committee for hosting this dinner. He recalled the current troubles that Lebanon is undergoing and commended the Heads of the 34 Cells for their commitment and the guidance that they provide to volunteers.
The evening ended with the presentation of awards to the Heads of Cells that was followed by a dinner.
