Berytech has opened applications for the DAWERR Ideathon calling on all engineers, scientists,
environmentalists, architects, makers, creatives, innovators, entrepreneurs, or young
professionals interested in finding solutions in the solid waste management sector to apply.
Held online over 5 consecutive days, the Ideathon is an exciting opportunity allowing all
participants to develop innovative solid waste management solutions around the three Rs
(Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to solve real challenges impacting Lebanon, especially its rural
communities.
Applicants from different backgrounds are given the opportunity to learn, experiment and
build their green solutions, receiving the business and technical support they need to
transform their ideas into valid business solutions.

About DAWERR
The Diverting Waste by Encouraging Reuse and Recycling Activity (DAWERR) is a five-year
activity funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) that aims
to improve the social, environmental, and economic well-being of Lebanese citizens by
establishing sustainable solid waste recovery and diversion programs in collaboration with
municipalities throughout rural areas in Lebanon.
DAWERR is implemented by the US-based ECODIT LLC in partnership with Berytech, Compost
Baladi, ECODIT Liban and ELARD.
