Like most kids, I have grown up in awe of my parents. My father graduated from USJ and opened his pharmacy 35 years ago. I have watched him work hard and struggle every day but I’ve also watched him succeed and grow.
That is what led me to be standing here today, after graduating from USJ in 2009, running the same business my father worked so hard to build. That was challenging at times because I’ve had to find a balance between preserving the foundation that existed and adding the innovation I intended to bring.
In addition to the academic skills USJ helped me acquire, this University has given me more than enough tools to succeed. The number of people I got to meet and deal with during my five years in the Campus - teachers, doctors, colleagues even patients during the last year in HDF- and the friendships I got to build along the way made me set my priorities straight. This University has helped shape my character and decide what kind of person I want to be in the future.
To me, it is not just about the business and the medicine anymore. To me, the most rewarding thing about it all is the ability to help people, to ease their pain, to comfort them and give them the right advice they need. That is what feeds my soul at the end of the day. That is the essence of my success story, and that is the only legacy I intend to protect.
