Clinical Approach to SLT 5

This TU is part of the Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Language Therapy, in semester 5. It is a mandatory course, which allows students to: - Develop an evaluation and intervention clinical approach. - Be able to use the knowledge related to a pathology and the scientific data to support their clinic work. - Develop analytical approach of the practicum while familiarizing themselves with the principles of Evidence-based practice. This TU contributes to the development of the following competencies: - Clinical approach: Realizing an SLT clinical procedure of screening, evaluating and providing care. - Collaboration: Collaborating with the educators, the psychomotor therapists and the psychologists in the internship site in order to establish a holistic intervention plan. - Communication skills: Informing the educators and the other partakers of the specific aspects of the encountered troubles and of their impact on the patient’s life, with the aim to prevent and detect. - Therapeutic relationship: Establishing and sustaining a valuable therapeutic relation with the patient. - Research: Introducing an establishment of protocols in link with the given theories in order to reach rigorous rehabilitation. - Professionalism: Respecting the ethical and deontological rules during all the therapeutic actions.
